FAQ
How do I start?
During the closed beta you join by personal invitation. Add a course and upload its study materials. From there you can create a new assignment, or upload work you have already written so Semestro can check it against the instructions.
Subscription selection and payment will be added when the paid service launches; they are not active in this version yet.
What does Semestro rely on?
Two different things, and Semestro does not mix them. Your lecturer's assignment instructions set what is required: the questions, the length, the kinds of source and the formatting rules. Course materials and academic sources, meaning syllabus, slides and articles, are what the academic content rests on. There is also a “course materials only” option, in which the work rests only on the files you uploaded, with no outside articles.
Does Semestro write the work for me?
Semestro is an assistant, not a writing service. It asks about your own ideas and facts, finds and checks sources, and drafts with you from your answers and the sources you chose. It does not invent: every fact comes from a real source or from what you told it. You go through every part, correct and approve it, and the academic responsibility for what you hand in stays yours.
Does the work stay mine?
Yes. The materials you upload and the work you write are yours. Download your work, and manage data export and account deletion on the Account page.
Does Semestro work in Hebrew and English?
Yes. The interface is available in Hebrew and English, and each assignment lets you pick the working language — matching the assignment, Hebrew, or English.
