Terms of Use
Version 1.1 · Last updated: 2026-10-07
Welcome to Semestro. These Terms of Use govern any use of the service and form a binding agreement between you and the service operator. Using the service means you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy.
The Nature of the Service
Semestro is an AI-assisted academic support tool designed to help students organize, analyze, and write academic assignments. The service does not replace human judgment, academic guidance, or the user's own personal responsibility for their work.
Limitations of the AI
The artificial intelligence built into the service may make mistakes, omit information, misinterpret instructions, or produce content that is inaccurate, outdated, or irrelevant. AI output should never be treated as a sole source of truth, and every output must be reviewed critically before use.
User Responsibility
- •Review the entirety of any work produced with the service's help and check its content before using or submitting it.
- •Independently verify sources, citations, references, factual claims, and calculations that appear in the output.
- •Confirm the work meets the assignment's requirements, the lecturer's instructions, and the rules of the academic institution where they study.
- •Comply with their institution's academic-integrity rules and permitted use of AI, checking in advance whenever in doubt.
Submitting Assignments
Semestro does not submit assignments to any academic institution, lecturer, or third party on the user's behalf. Submitting an assignment, including through an institution's own systems, is an action the user takes themselves and is solely responsible for.
No Guarantee of Outcome
The service makes no promise or guarantee of any particular grade, academic success, admission to an institution or program, absolute accuracy of content, or suitability of the output for a specific assignment, course, or institution's requirements.
AI Detectors
Semestro does not promise that a work will not be identified as written with AI, and it is not a tool for hiding from or getting around such detectors. The service's "AI signs" review suggests style edits only, which you accept or reject; it is not a detector, gives no score and promises no result in any detector.
Using AI in a work is subject to the institution's rules and the lecturer's instructions; the service has an AI-use declaration that is attached to the work when one is required.
Who May Use the Service
The service is meant for students aged 18 and over. During the closed beta, joining is by personal invitation only.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service operator will not be liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from use of the service or reliance on its output. Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Prohibited Use
- •Attempting to compromise the service's security, including hacking, vulnerability scanning, or bypassing protective measures.
- •Sharing login credentials with anyone not authorized to use the account, in a way that violates these Terms.
- •Scraping, copying, duplicating, or commercially exploiting the service without express permission.
- •Reverse-engineering the service, to the extent doing so is restricted under applicable law.
- •Any malicious or deceptive use, or use intended to harm the service, its operator, or other users.
Changes to These Terms
The service operator may update these Terms from time to time. A material change to these Terms or to the Privacy Policy may require the user to re-consent as a condition of continuing to use the service.
Your Institution's Logo on the Exported Document
Semestro can place the logo of the student's institution on the cover page of the document the student exports. It is always the student's option, per work: the logo appears only if the student leaves the option on. It is on in advance only when the assignment instructions ask for a logo, and it can be removed before downloading. The logo appears only on the student's own document and nowhere else.
Semestro has no affiliation with, sponsorship by or endorsement from any academic institution, and an institution's logo on a document does not imply any. The marks belong to the institutions alone.
At an institution's request, its logo is removed from the service immediately.
